We understand that women have experiences which are different to men and can experience vulnerabilities that are specific to their gender. These might include experiences of childhood trauma and abuse, which can continue into adolescence and adulthood.
Childhood abuse and domestic abuse are common features in the lives of the women we support which impacts on their health and wellbeing. Underpinning all our services is an in-depth understanding of trauma and a focus on recovery, resilience and community integration which is central to all that we do.

About the job
We would like you to join our strong and ambitious team to provide services within the integrated components of our accommodation based recovery service, based in Newcastle, supporting women, with children, through rehabilitation from addictions and complex needs.
As a Family Support Worker, you will be expected to provide support to women who have substance misuse issues and their children. Interacting with them on a day to day basis, agreeing well-structured plans, and empowering, coaching and advising them so they are able to stabilise their situation, and move on successfully. This will involve lone working at times.
