We have been supporting people in York since 2012, running successful substance misuse services that support people through their addiction and recovery journey in the city of York and across North Yorkshire, as well as supporting people experiencing homelessness in the Arc Light hostel. In 2017 we welcomed the addition of the York Drug & Alcohol service in partnership with Spectrum Community Health CIC, whilst having other exciting developments on the horizon; so it is a great time to be joining our organisation in York.

About the job
Changing Lives has significantly expanded over the past few years and now works nationally with people experiencing homelessness, addiction and a range of other problems by reaching out into communities. We also offer specialist support services for women and families, provide employment opportunities for our clients, and run several successful social enterprises.
Sessional Workers are integral to the running of our projects, augmenting the permanent staffing unit to provide first-class support to some of societies most vulnerable people with multiple complex needs, primarily supporting with holiday and sickness cover. You will interact with our service users on a day to day basis, coaching and supporting them towards living safe, stable and fulfilled lives. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple projects, developing your skills and experience in what is an extremely rewarding field. You will start by attending our Corporate Induction at Changing Lives Central Office, integrating you into the Changing Lives family and ways of working – heading into your projects with the tools to really make an impact. We also recognise the need to develop our Sessional Workers and, as such, you will have access to a number of our Learning & Development training modules to help enhance and develop your knowledge, skills and experience.
We run sessional assessment days throughout the year to ensure we get the best candidates for the roles available in our projects.
