Changing Lives and Spectrum Community Health CIC announced as new drug and alcohol service provider in York

Changing Lives and Spectrum Community Health CIC are taking over the contract for drug and alcohol services in York from 1st June.

Changing Lives and Spectrum secured the contract following a competitive tender process.

There will be no initial changes to service delivery, and contact details and referral processes remain the same.

Changing Lives supports research into veterans’ substance misuse

Changing Lives has supported a Royal British Legion-funded study by Northumbria University which looks into post-conflict life for military veterans and particularly, the prevalence of alcohol misuse following active service. The research identified the reasons why veterans with substance misuse problem have difficulty in seeking and engaging with help.

Funded by the Royal British Legion, the research shows that for those veterans who took part in the study, excessive alcohol consumption was the norm during their service career and that they did not recognise it as an issue or accept that their alcohol consumption was excessive.  This perception,…

Amber Project in Doncaster Awarded Funding From Police and Crime Commissioner

Changing Lives have been awarded funding from the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Dr Alan Billings, to support their award-winning Amber project.

CEOs To Change Lives In Fourth Annual Sleepout at St. James’ Park

CEOs from across the North East, including Changing Lives’ Stephen Bell OBE, are signing up to spend a night sleeping on the pitch-line of Newcastle United’s St. James’ Park to raise thousands to support vulnerable people suffering homelessness in the region.

2017’s CEO Sleepout will be the fourth sleep-out that St. James’ Park has hosted. Last year, £80,000 was raised, making Newcastle’s CEO Sleepout the largest outside of London.
