National Poetry Day 2017

On National Poetry Day, and as Recovery Month comes to an end, we wanted to share this wonderful poem that was written by a family member of someone who completed our 12-step addiction recovery programme. Former client awarded third place at national Recovery Street Film Festival 2017

A short film detailing the recovery journey of a Changing Lives client has been awarded third place in the national Recovery Street Film Festival 2017.

David Mishner, or Davy as he is known to friends, was supported through our 12-step recovery programme in North Tyneside and is now in paid employment with Changing Lives, helping other people who are facing drug or alcohol addiction.

United Carlton prove to be Drivers for change in annual charity golf day

Changing Lives has received a whopping £3,000 donation from the annual United Carlton golf day in the North East.

United Carlton, a North East-based organisation providing managed print solutions, held their annual golf day at Close House in Newcastle-upon-Tyne earlier this month, and kindly chose Changing Lives as the charity to benefit from their fundraising.

Client-made Recovery Ark set to tour Changing Lives’ projects for Recovery Month celebrations

'Ark Recovery', a wooden sculpture created by artist and Changing Lives Peer Mentor, Paul Richardson-Chute, and graduates of Changing Lives’ recovery programme in Northumberland, is set to embark on a tour of the organisation’s projects this month.

The Ark Recovery Tour will visit Changing Lives’ recovery centres across the North and Yorkshire over the next few weeks, from Berwick-upon-Tweed to York city centre.

Changing Lives’ Women’s Hub Exhibit Their Animation at The Baltic

An animation made by women supported by national charity Changing Lives, based on their own experiences, will be displayed at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Arts this month.

The animation was created by women from Changing Lives’ Women’s Hub in South Tyneside, and depicts the Goddess ‘Gemima’ as she experiences events from the women’s pasts.
