On Monday 30th April 2018, Durham Cathedral will host local business leaders and CEOs as they sleep out for the night under the stars to support people who have no choice but to sleep on the streets.
Changing Lives supports the CEO Sleepout in Durham, and will be one of the charities receiving a portion of the money raised by the event. Last year, £25,000 was raised by brave business leaders at the first ever Durham event.
Changing Lives provides supported accommodation for people at risk of homelessness across County Durham, including specialist accommodation for women in Chester-le-Street which opened in 2017.
Since 2009, Changing Lives has been offering dedicated support to people experiencing homelessness in the County Durham area, offering a safe place to live, and help to build the skills they need to create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
Changing Lives also provides employment support for disadvantaged people in the local community, working in partnership with 11 other respected organisations as part of the Reaching Out Across Durham (ROAD) programme. ROAD is jointly funded by The Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund.
Earlier this month, Changing Lives took part in the fifth annual CEO Sleepout in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where a whopping £100,000 was raised by over 120 business leaders.
We also have an event coming up in York soon:
