Spillers Wharf, Quayside, Newcastle
Sunday 16th April, 11am-3pm
Join Changing Lives on a tour of the Lord Nelson Tall Ship on Newcastle Quayside, before it sets off on its life-changing 4-day journey to Aberdeen.
The Family Fun Day, organised by Barclays, will be held on Easter weekend and comes just days before two graduates from Oaktrees North Shields embark on the journey of a lifetime with the Jubilee Sailing Trust.
The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) provides life-changing adventures to people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of physical ability. Gary and Dean, who have graduated from Changing Lives’ recovery programme and now attend Continuing Care at Oaktrees in North Shields, will be joining the tall ship on its journey from Newcastle to Aberdeen in April 2017.
For the Family Fun Day, guests will have the opportunity to tour the Lord Nelson tall ship as it is docked up on Spillers Wharf. There will also be face painters and a range of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
Oaktrees is a 12-week abstinence-based recovery programme offered by Changing Lives in multiple locations across the North East and Yorkshire. In North Shields, Changing Lives works as part of the North Tyneside Recovery partnership to provide this support.
Gary and Dean will be joined by Changing Lives’ staff members Jan Mallaburn and Ang Purvis and a team from Barclays in Newcastle.
