Fundraise for Changing Lives

The people who use our services can sometimes feel that they have a mountain to climb, so it is apt that some of our supporters do just that to help them.

Mountain climbers, marathon runners, abseilers, sleepout CEOs… anyone who takes on a trial to support Changing Lives stands shoulder to shoulder with our clients and gives them courage to continue with their own personal challenge.

They also provide vital funds that enrich our services and help us to reach out to more people.

Golf tournament “The John Thompson Classic”

4 June

Our annual charity golf day, the “John Thompson Classic,” has been running for over ten years in Newcastle. It’s a tournament where teams of four compete in a Texas Scramble match, as well as an auction and raffle with lots of fantastic prizes.

The proceeds from this year’s event will be used to fund services to help victims of personal crises such as rough sleeping, substance misuse, sexual exploitation and violence to build a positive future in our local community.

Recovery Relay

15 – 18 July

Over 4 days our 2018 Recovery Relay team will cover the distance from our northernmost recovery project in Berwick down to our most southern recovery project in York.

There’ll be a range of activities across the 218 miles, and you are welcome to join in for as much or as little as you like. Run, walk, cycle, hop, skip, jump… whatever floats your boat. You could even row a boat!

The Recovery Relay aims to promote the fantastic work of our drug and alcohol teams across the country, the achievement of the people we support in recovery, and to raise fund to ensure we can continue this life-changing support.

Sea to Sea (C2C) Cycle Route

Summer 2018

The C2C route runs from Whitehaven in Cumbria to the North East coast of Sunderland. Tradition dictates that you start the ride by dipping your back wheel in the Irish Sea and only ends when your front wheel gets a dip in the North Sea at the finish.

Our intrepid team of cyclists will be crossing the country over this challenging course, and raising money to help us change lives across the North and Midlands, tackling social exclusion in all its forms and helping people make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
