About us

Changing Lives is a national charity that supports over 17,000 people each year. We are a well-respected, growing organisation dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable people across the UK.

We began as a soup run supporting people who were homeless in the North East over 45 years ago, and are proud to still have our main base and central office in the North East. Since 1970, our services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

We’re looking for committed and compassionate professionals who share our enthusiasm for changing lives.

About the job

Changing Lives has significantly expanded over the past few years and now works nationally with people experiencing homelessness, addiction and a range of other problems by reaching out into communities. We also offer specialist support services for women and families, provide employment opportunities for our service users, and run several successful social enterprises.

Sessional Workers are integral to the running of our projects, augmenting the permanent staffing unit to provide first-class support to some of societies most vulnerable people with multiple complex needs, primarily supporting with holiday and sickness cover. You will interact and support our service users on a day to day basis, coaching and supporting them towards living safe, stable and fulfilled lives. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple projects, developing your skills and experience in what is an extremely rewarding field.
