Administration and Reception Volunteer

Location: Chester le Street

Role Description

Changing Lives supports people who are experiencing a range of disadvantages including homelessness, addiction, poverty and social exclusion and we aim to enable them to build better futures. The role is to support residents, staff and management, and gain experience in administration

Key responsibilities

  • General administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying
  • Arranging meetings, taking minutes , booking venues and rooms as necessary
  • Data input or transfer
  • Devising and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Welcoming clients into the offices
  • Answering the telephone and taking messages
  • Keeping the reception orderly

Skills, experience and abilities

  • Experience in any aspect of office or admin is beneficial but not essential
  • Able to work as part of a team with good communication and listening skills
  • Friendly and approachable manner, and a good sense of humour
  • Able to recognise their own limits and boundaries in the role
  • Open-minded, with a non-judgemental approach to addiction and recovery
  • Able to keep calm under pressure
  • A commitment to the aims and principles of Changing Lives

Expected hours/times

Monday to Friday 10.00- 2.00pm
