Administration Volunteer

Location: Blyth

Role Description

We need volunteers to provide admin support to a busy accommodation service.

Key responsibilities

  • General administrative tasks such as answering the phone, dealing with enquiries, filing, photocopying and faxing
  • Data input or transfer
  • Petty cash
  • Supporting with PR work, events and fundraising
  • Devising and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Stock check
  • Chatting with residents and supporting with breakfast clubs, community eating and groups if desired
  • Keeping the reception orderly

Skills, experience and abilities

  • Friendly and approachable manner, and a good sense of humour
  • Able to work as part of a team with good communication and listening skills
  • Open-minded, with a non-judgemental approach to addiction and recovery
  • Understanding of the issues facing the people accessing our service
  • Able to keep calm under pressure
  • Experience in any aspect of office or admin is beneficial but not essential
  • A commitment to the aims and principles of Changing Lives, including a commitment to confidentiality

Expected hours/times

At least one full day per week or 2 half days
