Office Admin Volunteer

Location: Gateshead

Role Description

As an office admin volunteer, you will be based on reception at Changing Lives central office. The main element to this role is to support our busy reception area, welcoming visitors and answering the main phone line.

Key responsibilities

  • Answering incoming phone calls and passing messages to the relevant person
  • Welcoming visitors to central office, ensuring the signing in system is monitored
  • Dealing with email communications
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing post
  • Providing general admin support such as photocopying and scanning

Skills, experience and abilities

  • Ability to work in a busy office environment
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality and follow GDPR guidance
  • Ability to work in an environment that is health and safety conscious
  • Ability to work to set guidelines
  • Good telephone manner and communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Expected hours/times

To support weekdays – Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.30pm

A minimum of two shifts each week, we are flexible regarding days/times and the availability to do more is desirable
