Reception Volunteer

Location: Doncaster

Role Description

Changing Lives is supporting people who are experiencing homelessness, addiction, domestic violence, and a range of other issues by reaching out in to our communities. Doncaster Women’s Centre and Community Hub works with individuals and families to help them achieve their personal goals. We need volunteers who will provide support at the reception.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcoming service users into the offices
  • Allowing clients into the project via a secure door
  • Greeting visitors, making sure they sign in/out
  • Answering the telephone, taking messages and passing messages on to the team
  • Keeping the reception orderly

Skills, experience and abilities

  • Experience in any aspect of office or admin (including good IT skills) is desirable.
  • Friendly and approachable manner, and a good sense of humour
  • Able to work as part of a team with good communication and listening skills
  • Open-minded, with a non-judgemental approach
  • Able to keep calm under pressure
  • A commitment to the aims and principles of Changing Lives, including a commitment to confidentiality

Expected hours/times

Monday to Friday, 1-2 days per week, 9.30- 3.00
