Role Description
The Changing Lives Charity Shop based in Gateshead is a busy successful shop selling all sorts of donated items. We have a small team who is working very hard to support Changing Lives’ projects throughout the country. This role could provide a valuable range of skills and experience, and an opportunity to be involved in their challenging and rewarding work.
Key responsibilities
- Helping sales assistants to sell charity shop items
- Sorting and categorising items ready for listing
- Photographing items and uploading images and text on Gumtree, Facebay, Facebook Marketplace, and help us achieve higher sales
- Listing items
- Liaising with customers
- Advertising stock and engaging with people on social media
- Print leaflets and collate info packs
Skills, experience and abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications
- Current experience using social media platforms
- Good computer/phone skills
- Highly self-motivated. Ability to complete tasks independently, while staying in close communication with project manager
- Ability to accurately describe items for sale
- A keen eye for detail
- Cheerful and positive, keen to get involved
- Flexible team player
- Interest in the work of Changing Lives
Expected hours/times
Tuesday to Saturday, ideally two days per week
