Saltbrook Place
Housing and Homelessness
Introduction to Service
Saltbrook Place is a supported accommodation service and member of the Changing Lives family, bringing a shared commitment to empowering individuals to build safer, more independent futures. As one of the organisation’s newest services, Saltbrook Place delivers high-quality, person-centred support for adults aged 18+ who are experiencing homelessness, including care leavers, refugees, and individuals with complex and multiple needs.
Our residents often face a range of challenges such as substance misuse, mental health difficulties, physical health concerns, learning disabilities, experiences of abuse, and histories of offending or housing instability. At Saltbrook Place, we provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where individuals are encouraged to rebuild confidence, develop essential life skills, and work towards long-term independence.
The service offers 24-hour staffed support and works in close partnership with Dudley Council, with all referrals coming through this route. We operate within a strong multi-agency framework, collaborating with services including mental health teams, probation, police, housing providers, drug and alcohol services, community health services, and social care. In-house provision includes housing surgeries, access to drug and alcohol support, and social prescribing, ensuring residents receive coordinated and holistic care.
Saltbrook Place adopts a person-centred, goal-focused approach, supporting residents to achieve meaningful outcomes through tailored support plans. We focus on developing practical life skills such as money management, health and hygiene, tenancy sustainment, and access to education, training, and employment opportunities. Everyday support, such as offering a welcoming environment with simple provisions like tea and toast, helps foster a sense of community and belonging.
We are committed to empowering individuals to have an active voice in their journey. The people we support are encouraged to participate in decision-making processes and contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of the service. Our strengths-based and solution-focused approach enables residents to recognise their potential and make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
Saltbrook Place is dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. We actively challenge inequalities and work to ensure that every individual is treated with dignity and respect. Through strong partnership working and professional, boundaried practice, we aim to deliver a service that is responsive, inclusive, and effective.
As part of Changing Lives, Saltbrook Place plays a vital role in supporting people facing some of the most challenging circumstances, helping them move forward with confidence, stability, and hope for the future.
