Christmas Partnership

We feel incredibly grateful to be working alongside The Oswin Project, Newcastle Cathedral, and North East Updates for the third year running. Their commitment, generosity, and shared passion have truly enriched our campaign and made a real difference in the lives of those we support.

Since 2012, the Oswin Project has been committed to mentoring, training, and supporting individuals with criminal records across the North East. Since its opening in 2021, the café has offered meaningful opportunities for people to gain employment, learn new skills, and build a fresh start.

Prisoners who work for the charity inside HMP Northumberland can go on to work in the café on day release or once they have finished their sentence.  The charity’s work aligns with the Cathedral’s Lantern Initiative, which seeks to walk and work alongside those facing dark and difficult circumstances in life.

Newcastle Cathedral – the only cathedral in the UK dedicated to St Nicholas – stands as a beacon of faith, heritage, and community at the heart of the city. Alongside its daily worship and outreach, the Cathedral provides a welcoming space for reflection and support, collaborating with local charities and organisations through initiatives such as the Cathedral Lantern Project, which aims to shine brightly for those facing difficult circumstances in life.
