St Peters Court
Housing and Homelessness
Introduction to Service
St Peters Court is a project supporting women aged 18 and over who have been referred through Durham County Council’s Housing and Homelessness Team.
The service consists of 16 self-contained one‑bedroom apartments, designed around the individual needs of the women accessing support. This layout provides greater dignity, privacy, and autonomy.
- 8 apartments offer temporary accommodation for women who are at risk of homelessness or are currently experiencing homelessness.
- 8 apartments provide longer-term accommodation of up to 18 months for women who require ongoing support.
During their time at St Peters Court, women are supported to build independence and develop the skills needed to sustain a tenancy. This helps improve move‑on outcomes and supports long‑term stability and success. Many of the women who access the project have a range of complex needs, often linked to experiences of trauma, violence, or abuse.
At Changing Lives, we believe everyone should have access to safe, comfortable, high‑quality accommodation that reflects diverse needs. This investment in women’s services represents a positive step forward for both Changing Lives and for provision across County Durham.
We offer
- The service offers a combined model of 8 assessment centre placements and 8 longer term supported properties, enabling residents to receive the right level of support at the right stage of their journey.
