Adult Sexual Exploitation Partnership

Find out more about the ASE Partnership, formerly STAGE, and access the resources provided by the partnership.

The Adult Sexual Exploitation (ASE) partnership, supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, brings together charities specialised in adult sexual exploitation – Changing Lives, A Way Out, GROW, Together Women, Basis, WomenCentre, Ashiana and the Angelou Centre – to provide trauma-informed support for women who have been groomed for sexual exploitation across the North East and Yorkshire.

Adult sexual exploitation is poorly understood and rarely recognised in policy and practice. There is currently no statutory definition, no specific statutory responsibilities towards victims/survivors and no national strategic approach to tackling it.

The ASE partnership has produced a series of briefings highlighting the impact that sexual exploitation has on women’s lives and their ability to access justice, healthcare, housing and safeguarding support. We have also produced a toolkit aimed at organisations and practitioners looking to provide support to women who have experienced sexual exploitation.
