Becky is Changing Lives’ Director of Operations for housing, homelessness and recovery from addiction. Services in her remit include rough sleeper outreach, supported accommodation, including specialist services for women, young people and veterans, general needs housing, abstinence based structured day programmes and recovery centres. Becky is also responsible for three innovative system change projects, Fulfilling Lives for people experiencing multiple and complex needs, a rough sleeping social impact bond and implementing a strengths based approach in homelessness services.
Becky represents the homelessness sector on Homeless Link’s National Advisory Council, is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Ending Homelessness Steering Group, and also sits on Newcastle City Council’s Voluntary Sector Liaison Group.
Prior to taking up the Director role in April 2015, Becky was Assistant Director in the Business Development team, with responsibility for coordinating and writing the organisation’s five year strategy, partnership development and overseeing the grants team.
Starting out as a rural community development worker, Becky has worked in the voluntary sector almost all of her working life. Before joining Changing Lives, she was Regional Manager for the North East and Cumbria for national sector representative body Homeless Link. There she helped local authorities and the voluntary sector develop services, form partnerships and influence policy locally and nationally.
