Changing lives very own ambassador Team GB boxer Calum French struck gold in Lithuania over the weekend.
Calum stepped up his preparation for the Tokyo Olympics and next year’s commonwealth games by winning against a very tough Dutch opponent in Lithuania over the weekend.
Calum recently called into the Fells to meet some residents and collect his Changing lives t-shirts to wear in Lithuania.
Calum told the residents he would send in a picture of him wearing the t-shirt and after he won gold!
Calum has been a Changing Lives ambassador since last year and has been heavily involved with our supported accommodation project for men experiencing homelessness, The Fells in Chester-le-Street. Last year he officially opened The Fells new onsite gym and has openly spoken about the importance of sport and fitness to help people overcome challenges in their lives.
Alan Hodgson Project Lead at The Fells said:
“Calum is an excellent role model and discussed setting goals, being focused and not giving up, messages people we support relate to as they deserve the same life choices and chances as everyone else.
Calum will be back at the fells this weekend to let the residents see the gold medal as promised and reinforce the message that we can all achieve our hopes and aspirations.”
Well done Callum
