Changing Lives, in partnership with the Centre for Public Impact has just secured £50,000 from The Big Lottery Emerging Futures Fund to continue our listening work recording the experiences of people accessing our services during the Covid-19 lockdown.
The impact of Covid-19 pandemic has drastically altered how services have been delivered and how people we work with access support. Listening to their individual experience of lockdown and the impact on their lives is a vital learning opportunity for us as organisation but also national policy.
To date, with the fantastic support of colleagues across Changing Lives, we have listened to 90 people. The funding will enable us to extend this to another 150 over the next six months through a dedicated member of staff seconded to the project.
The funding comes as part of £50,000 awarded to the project’s partnership with CPI, which aims to understand the impact of COVID-19 and help shape the future response. £21,000 will go to CPI and £29k to Changing Lives, this will pay for a full-time Asset Coach for 6 months.
So far we have learned a great deal about how trust and choice have positively impacted people’s experience of services during the lockdown as well as how people want to contribute to discussions about the national recovery from the pandemic. We have also developed new ways of engaging with people and making sense of what we are being told. As the conversations continue we are sure we will continue to learn how people’s experience and insights can positively impact on our services as well as local and national policy.
