Changing Lives is honoured to be shortlisted for the award of ‘North East Charity of the Year’ at this year’s North East Charity Awards, for the second year running.
Changing Lives is one of three charities based in the North East shortlisted for this category, alongside FACT (Fighting All Cancers Together) and Harbour Support Services.
Stephen Bell OBE, Chief Executive of Changing Lives, said:
“To be shortlisted in such a competitive and strong category is testament to the hard work and commitment that our 500-strong staff team put in day in day out to make positive, lasting changes in the lives of people who are socially excluded.
“We are proud to have our origins firmly rooted in the North East, and to have been changing lives for vulnerable people in our local community for over 45 years.”
The awards evening will be held at the end of the month at Newcastle’s famous Boiler Shop, in the industrial quarter of the city, celebrating the success and strength of the North East charity sector with 11 categories.
Other categories included ‘Young Charity Champion of the Year’ and ‘Uniquely North East’.
The annual awards are organised by The Journal, The Gazette and VONNE, with associate sponsors Brewin Dolphin and support sponsor Leathers LLP, to celebrate the achievements of the region’s charity, voluntary and social enterprise sectors in the region.
Changing Lives was shortlisted for the same category last year, alongside St. Oswald’s Hospice and Children North East.
