Will you bring festive cheer to vulnerable people this year? Take part in our Reverse Advent Calendar to collect and donate vital items for people experiencing extreme hardship in the local community.

1. Get a cardboard box

It is a simple concept. Over 25 days in the run up to Christmas, pop one item a day into your cardboard box…any box will do!

Then bring it in to one of the addresses below, for us to distribute to vulnerable people in your local community.

Only got time to collect a few things? That’s fine. Just pop in one or two items from the list below – we’ll still put them to good use!

2. Fill it with all kinds of lovely things

We have men, women and children in urgent need of clothing, toiletries, toys and other items. Suggested donations include:

  • Unwrapped gifts suitable for all age groups, including books, DVDs, games, colouring books (for kids and adults), jigsaws etc
  • Unopened toiletries for men and women (such as body wash, moisturiser, deoderant, shampoo, conditioner, razors, toothpaste, alcohol-free mouth wash, toothbrushes, perfume, make up bags etc)
  • Warm clothing (new or good quality secondhand) such as gloves, slippers, scarves, hats, socks. Or if you’re feeling really generous, coats, pyjamas, dressing gowns and slippers.
  • Decorative ornaments, to make a house a home
  • No food, alcohol or toy weapons please.

Please don’t wrap the donations but feel free to include gift bag/s if you’d like to.

3. Drop it off in time for Christmas

Drop your box off at one of our Changing Lives locations – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm – by no later than 15th December, to enable us to sort and distribute your kind donations in time for Christmas.

To avoid disappointment, we recommend calling any Changing Lives project in advance, to check there will be somewhere there to receive your donation. Some of our projects run with minimal staff and we’d hate you to make a wasted journey if we’re out when you come.
