Changing Lives For Our Veterans: Armed Forces Day 2017 - My CMS

Saturday 24th June 2017 is Armed Forces Day – a national day celebrating the work of the men and women who serve our country.

People’s experiences in the armed forces mean they often experience trauma, and can face difficulties adjusting back into civilian life.

This can include mental health issues and difficulties reconnecting with family. Unsupported, these issues can lead to homelessness and other problems.

We’re proud to run a number of services for veterans in the North East, providing a safety net of support to former members of the Armed Forces.

As we approach Armed Forces Day, will you support our veterans with a donation to our vital services?

Text VETS17 £5 to 70070 to donate £5. Or change the £5 to whatever amount you want to give.

Our services include:

  • specialist veterans accommodation
  • outreach to veterans in the community
  • counselling and family guidance
  • employment help
  • recovery support

We help people who have served our country to reintegrate into their community, maintain a home and rebuild connections with family.

Follow us on Facebook where over the next few days we will be sharing stories from the veterans we support, and the staff and volunteers who support them.
