We are delighted that Changing Lives has won Supporting Partner of the Year at Springboard's GEM Awards 2018.

Springboard is a North East charity which aims to support the development of sustainable communities by providing opportunities through Apprenticeships, flexible Study programmes and support for people experiencing unemployment.

The annual GEM Awards recognises learners, employers and partners who have “Gone the Extra Mile.” Changing Lives’ Women’s Services have been working with Springboard for several years. Together we have been able to bring to training providers into our community hubs to give opportunities for the women we work with to pursue further education and qualifications.

Dawn Harrison, Co-ordinator of Women’s Services in Sunderland at Changing Lives, was at the ceremony to collect the award, and said:

Over the past few years we have worked hard to bring training providers in to the women’s hubs so that the women can both increase their confidence and achieve qualifications,

With Springboard’s help many of the women we work with now have a positive opinion of education for the first time. As well as achieving qualifications, they have increased their confidence and the belief that they can progress and achieve more.

Dawn Harrison received the Supporting Partner of the Year Award at the GEM Awards 2018
